History Is Ironic

You don’t need to go to the Great Pyramid to see that the ancient people would rather read a picture book than a novel.

So Where The Wild Things Are would have still be a hit with the Ancient Mayans.

As for Moby Dick.

Not so much.

It would have had too many words.

And ancient people had images as their alphabet.

Instead of letters.

Sadly enough the ancient people would have never learned the “ABC song” from Sesame Street.

Damn I think I just cried a little bit.

The ancient people used visual images to learn to build, worship their gods, and whatever else ancient people did.

And where are we today?

Well we are in the age where people are reading less and less.

And what are we doing instead?

Someone start the drum role please to build up the ironic statement I am about to make.

We are using movies and television that produce visual images to learn most of what we know.

Somehow we became alphabetical people that use images to learn.

Which is what the ancient people did.

They just skipped writing words and cut to the images.

Even with a blog like this the picture at the bottom of this post will get more attention than all these words I write.

So basically we are becoming like the ancient people.

Which is cool.

Where The Wild Things Are is one of my favorite children’s books

No matter how many jokes I write here, the cat beats me every time.
